Jane Nisbet is a Senior Psychologist who works with adolescents and young people experiencing mental illness. Her speciality is working with clients with addiction issues and the parents and carers of those young people. Jane’s warm and empathic approach prioritises client centred treatment and delivery of evidence-based interventions face to face. Jane’s practice is LGBTQI+ inclusive.
Jane has over a decade of clinical experience in both private practice and Non-Government Organisations. She has extensive experience in leadership, mentoring and supervision. Jane is also passionate about research and she has presented at numerous conferences and workshops. Jane has also run groups in various outpatient settings.
Jane uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) in treatment. Jane also draws on Family Systems Therapy and provides trauma informed treatment.
Jane is a Board-approved Supervisor and supervises Psychology students, registered Psychologists and Counsellors. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Jane Nisbet works Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
